What are the transport links like in High Wycombe?

High Wycombe is a well-connected commuter town whose station is on the Chiltern Main Line to London Marylebone, Oxford, Birmingham and Aylesbury via Princes Risborough. Trains to London can take between 23-45 minutes, making it ideal for commuters.

There is also a busy bus station and a Park and Ride service, as well as quick connections to the M40, M4, M25 and M1.

Heathrow Airport is approximately 25 miles southeast, accessible via the M40 and M25. Whilst slightly further afield but accessible is Birmingham, Luton, Stanstead and Gatwick providing great flexibility for the frequent traveller.

What is there to do in High Wycombe?

One of the biggest draws of the town is the Eden Centre shopping and entertainment complex. Located at the centre of High Wycombe, it boasts over 100 shops from high-end retailers to well-known high street brands and well as plenty of restaurants and a cinema. Outside the Eden Centre, the Wycombe Swan is one of the UK’s leading regional theatres that shows a variety of shows, musicals, pantomimes and live music events.

The town is also home to High Wycombe Town Centre Market, which takes place on Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays and sells fresh produce, fashion, street food and more.

High Wycombe is also surrounded by the serene Chilterns countryside, offering numerous parks and green spaces, such as The Rye Park, a central park featuring open spaces, playgrounds and a lake, and West Wycombe Park, a National Trust property with landscaped gardens and historical architecture.

And there are several key cultural sites, including the Wycombe Museum which showcases the town’s history and heritage, the Hell-Fire Caves, a man-made network with a rich and intriguing history, and Hughenden Manor and Park, a National Trust site which was the former home of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli. The area of natural beauty is the perfect location for family days out and scenic walks through the country estate.
