Today the Land Registry has unveiled "top tips" to help owners protect their property from fraudsters.
According to the Land Registry the most vulnerable properties are usually:
*Empty
*Tenanted
*Mortgage-free
*Properties where individuals are absent – e.g. living abroad, in residential care
To prevent your property from becoming the victim of fraud, ensure your property is registered. If you don't live at the property there is no fee to do this. Owners living at the property will pay a small fee.
